Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 November 2026
Napo Cat is an iPhone app with a pixel-art cat who says one line a day. This policy explains plainly what the app and this website process, and what they don't.
In short
- What you tell the app stays on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. It is never on our servers.
- No ads, no tracking, no data sold or shared with data brokers.
Data that stays on your device
While you use Napo Cat, the app stores on your iPhone:
- The choices you make in setup and Settings: the name Napo calls you, her collar color, your life phase and tone, your morning time, how many Napo moments you want, the evening line and the app icon.
- Your reactions to Napo's lines (Pat or Another) and the days you reacted, which set your bond level and help pick future lines.
- Your Paw Diary: the lines Napo said to you and when.
This is kept in Apple's on-device data store, in a space shared between the app and its widgets so they show the same thing. Picking Napo's lines happens on your iPhone; nothing you do is sent anywhere to decide them. Deleting the app removes this data from the device.
Notifications
Napo's morning line, evening line and moments are scheduled as local notifications on your iPhone. Their text comes from the app itself, not from a server. You can change or turn them off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.
New lines and share links
From time to time the app downloads new lines for Napo from content.napocat.com. The request contains no information about you; like any web request it reaches our hosting provider, Cloudflare, with your IP address, which is used only to deliver the files.
When you share a line as a link, the link holds only the line's ID (for example napocat.com/l/en.start.0006). It doesn't identify you or the person you send it to. Saving a share card to Photos asks for add-only access, which lets the app add an image but not see your library.
Third-party services
Subscriptions: Apple and RevenueCat
Napo Cat Premium is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment through your Apple Account; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether Premium is active. It receives a random ID created for this install and your purchase status from Apple, not your name, email or anything you enter in the app. Details: revenuecat.com/privacy.
iCloud
If you're signed in to iCloud, Napo Cat keeps a copy of your data in your own private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so Napo comes back on a new iPhone. It stays in your iCloud account under Apple's terms; we can't access or read it.
TelemetryDeck
To learn which parts of the app are used, the app sends anonymous events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service: for example "onboarding completed", "line reacted to", "widget added". Some events carry a general category, such as which plan was bought or which life phase you picked when you change it. No personal content is sent: not your name or Napo's lines. Nothing in these events identifies you, and they are not used for tracking. Details: telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
Website analytics: Cloudflare
This website counts page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, doesn't follow you across other sites and stores no personal data, only totals such as page, country and device type. This applies to the website only. Details: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Children
Napo Cat is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone, at any age.
Your rights
Your data lives on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, so you are in control: deleting the app removes it from the device, and you can delete the iCloud copy in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Storage. We hold no copy, so there is nothing to request from us. For subscriptions and analytics you can use your rights through the policies linked above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. We will mention significant changes in the app.
